Our day on Arran

For those who don't know Carolyn has spent many hours on her family tree. Her great grandmother was of the Boa family who settled on the is land of Arran. Carolyn arranged to meet a lady at the local heratige museum. She turned out to be her cousin twice removed. So we left Carol chatting and we went for a drive around the Island

What a beautiful hilly island. At Lochranza to the north was castle ruins to explore

As you can see every thing was lush and green.
I made friends with a hairy cow, then we picked up Carolyn

Carolyn found out where her sheppard ancestors farms were. So we drove the area. Unfortunately it was so foggy we could see just 10 feet from the car.
Spend the afternoon exploring the restored Brodick castle and its grounds.

Then what luck, Nessie is on holidays as it is slightly warmer here than Loch Ness. And I spotted her!
