Early start walking into town to catch a 8am tour bus to the Isle of Skye. Taking the southern road there and northern road home. The sky does look a bit dark, have our raincoats.
We follow Loch Ness, thick forest around us. All the rain has everything looking green and there are plenty of great waterfalls.
Forest disappears and it is open hills
A few more miles then at the joining of 3 lochs, Castle Eilain Donan a working castle belonging to the MacRea Clan. Eilain being Gaelic for where 3 lochs meet
Onward to the Isle of Skye and our stop at Portree for lunch. A pretty looking town but unfortunately the heavens have opened up and there is a large docked cruise ship there. But we were stunned by the island scenery, even with rain clouds.
After seeing a dead castle we leave the Isle of skye (by bridge) and return to Inverness at 7:30pm, a long day.
Just time for one last waterfall
