Lets visit Loch Lomond

Yep being driven around in the country side sounds good.
So we are off to Loch Lomond

Meeting place Saint Georges square with council buildings in the background.

We leave from the centre of Glasgow and get to view some of the outer suburbs. Some great building and even old Police boxes converted to news paper stands.

But it is not long before we are in the country. The countryside is green and lush. Through little villiages until we reach the loch.

Loch Lomond is surrounded by Scotlands second largest National Park and there are many walk ways there. We did indeed see many walkers enjoying the scenery. Back in the bus and head back to Glasgow but with a wee stop at a small family owned distillery.

Above is a great visual display, whiskey is matured in an oak cask to get its colour and taste. There are 4 barrel types used here. A sample has been taken each year from each of the barrels, you can see how the colour developes over 30 years in each type. Evaporation occurs over time, the volume in each bottle represents the volume remaining the the barrel at that time.

The Angles taking there share.

Back in Glasgow and we better find another local whiskey bar. There is one, The Still Pot
